Emirates round-the-world tickets on hold

When the COVID epidemic started in 2019, Emirates and AIR TAHITI NUI stopped selling round-the-world tickets. As of today (April 2023), we are still waiting for them to resume sales.

How does it work?

Destinations

Due to the small number of airlines, the choice of destinations is limited and must include Dubai, Papeete, Los Angeles and Tokyo or Auckland.

The main other possible destinations are: Paris, Nice, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Bali, Singapore, the Maldives and Colombo.

Trip duration

1 year max

Price

The base fare is $2,514 (£1,831) but you’ll need to add around $900 (£650) to $1,000 (£750) in taxes and surcharges depending on your itinerary.

Changes

Flight dates can be changed at any moment free of charge.

A fee of $115 (£80) will be required for any route modification.

The RTW ticket is refundable before departure but you’ll incur a $115 (£85) fee.

Miles

All flights with Emirates will allow you to earn miles which can then be redeemed for an upgrade or a free ticket.

Terms and conditions

You can only travel in one direction (east or west), go around the world once and return to the country of origin.
You can’t travel overland between two mainland areas.
Stopovers: 6 max. allowed
You can also choose another mode of transport for a segment. It’ll be called a “surface area” (you could choose to travel by car, train or boat or use local airlines).
